Definately rubber totes. They stack well and they are great for organizing things. Also, you can get different colors to color code things you are packing. Like red for kitchen stuff, blue for summer stuff, green for garden tools, etc.
metal can.
Clear plastic totes keep stuff out. Remove all cardboard boxes as these attract spiders. You could use metal if you can find it but it is $$$. Maybe find metal screening to wrap bins in?
Rubbermaid tubs and lids. You can get them at WalMart or Target.
The best storage containers for protection are the rubbermaid containers. First if you have heavy items, such as a bunch of books, put them into smaller containers, they will be much easier to carry and move. I use the rubbermaid products and stack them, heavy on the bottom, lighter as they go up. Or if I am limited by space, I use a piece of wood, Plywood and it doesn’t have to be heavy just large enough to cover the top of the container, that adds stability to the stack and makes it easier to remove one if necessary.
Put a bounty sheet in the boxes and this will help keep the rodents out.
